Where the hell do you start with describing this bloke? Nick Batterham is brilliant. He’s another songwriter that gives me the impression that he has a factory unit full of other great songwriters churning out top songs perpetually.
This song is a brand newie and I’m lucky to have him play it here only days after it’s creation. He has a history of playing with and alongside some incredible bands and players and he has more projects on the go at any given time than there are days in a week. Nick Batterham everybody.
Mandy Connell is lovely. Her insightful stories flow beautifully over her creative guitar picking and it is music to my ears. She is a fine purveyor of excellent traditional folk music and she shines like gold, either solo or with her group of equally fine ladies, The Stray Hens.
This song, is a great example of what I love about live music. Mandy came in and strummed away at many songs while I prepared to film and record and when I suggested that I loved one particular song she was playing, she said it was brand new, written within days and incomplete.
